According to bls.gov, the annual median pay for a security guard is $26,900, and a gaming officer will make $33,260. Some will make more, and some, a bit less. It depends on the position and the amount of experience.
There is minimal job advancement within the field but it is available. You can become the security manager or open your own security guard business.
There is an average job growth outlook expected between now and 2026 at around 6 percent. But job opportunities are excellent, since security guards are always needed.
